Our football team managed to sign the 20-year-old, 2-time champion and Serbian national team player Zeljko Gavric, who arrives from Crvena Zvezda. According to Transfermarkt, the young attacker was the third most valuable footballer in the entire Serbian league, with an estimated value of € 4.5 million. He now becomes the most expensive football player in NB I, this list has been led by our Albanian player Myrto Uzuni so far (EUR 3 million).
Gavric has proved to be most useful on the sides as a winger, but he can also help the team in the midfield. He joined Crvena Zvezda at a young age, which used to be the most successful Yugoslav team and then became the best Serbian club.
He made his debut in adult football in the 2019/20 season, not in Crvena though, but in the second-class Graficar, the club’s "secondary" team. He also scored seven goals in twenty games and gave five assists so he was promoted to the primary team. He played in nine matches and was successful once. He celebrated the championship title with his club, Crvena Zvezda at the end of the season.
He spent the entirety of the previous, the 2020/21 season, in Crvena Zvezda. Despite his young age, he played on 27 games and even started on 21 of those. He thanked the trust since he scored 8 goals and 3 assists in the league. He also played in the Champions League Qualifiers and as a substitute on a Europa League playoff victory, and then on a successful EL group round match. At the end of the season, he had reason to celebrate again, winning the Serbian championship and the Serbian Cup with the team.
