We left Debrecen with a defeat
Turnovers, nine goals and a red card in the match against Loki, that we lost 5-4.

After Wednesday's victory from Puskás Akadémia, we came into the match knowing that even if we win, we will not be able to catch up with the team from Felcsút, who have played two games more. The Nagyerdei stadium's stands were not helped by the fact that the postponed OTP Bank Liga round 1 match was played at the same time as the Hungarian-Montenegro European Women's Handball Championship match in the city of Tsipras, and there were only a few spectators. At the home of Loki, who are fighting against relegation, head coach Pascal Jansen fielded the following starting line-up, with Kady returning and Gábor Szalai also being put in the starting line-up: Dibusz - Makreckis, Cissé, Szalai, Ramírez - Maiga, Abu Fani - Kady, Saldanha, Traoré - Varga B.

First half

The meeting started in the worst possible way for us. After the home team's first kickt, Donát Bárány turned away from Ibrahim Cisse inside the penalty area and calmly slotted past Dibusz Dénes into the bottom left corner (1-0). Two minutes later, Gábor Szalai received his first yellow card of the match for a clearance. Balázs Dzsudzsák kicked a 23-metre free kick into the line, but Ferenczi pushed the free kick over, the ball came out of Dibusz' reach and Bárány pounced like a shotgun and shot into the bottom right corner (2-0). In the 9th minute, Brazilian Kady Borges, returning from suspension, was well set up by Makreckis, but his shot was blocked by Loki defenders. In the 12th minute, another Brazilian, Matheus Saldanha, almost had the whole home defence on the run, but his flat shot was easily saved by goalkeeper Megyeri.

We were just starting to get back into the game when in the 17th minute Donát Bárány scored a hat trick, the striker confidently shot the ball into the bottom right corner (3-0). In the 22nd minute Saldanha again tricked well, but his shot was saved by Megyeri. In the 28th minute, a penalty was awarded: after a Ramírez cross, Saldanha headed the ball onto the hands of the newly substituted Pellumbi. Barnabás Varga calmly slotted the penalty into the centre of the goal in place of the diving goalkeeper (3-1). However, we were reduced after the goal, Gábor Szalai fouled Bárány at half-back and was sent off for his second yellow card. We threatened in the 37th minute, the DVSC defenders miscued a forward ball, Saldanha pounced but his shot bounced and eventually slipped in front of goal. On the other end, Brandon Domingues was in a shooting position but his effort bounced off the post. In the 42nd minute we managed to score from a man down, Varga took advantage of his defender's clumsiness and sent a trick to another full back, eventually rolling it under the goalkeeper and into the goal (3-2). Immediately after our goal Saldanha fired a long range shot, the ball bounced wide of Megyeri but was eventually cleared by the home goalkeeper. Our team went for an equaliser even with less men and in the 47th minute - 6 minutes of extra time - it happened, Makreckis crossed from the right, Saldanha got in a great finish and Megyeri was beaten (3-3). At the end of the first half the home hero had to be substituted, while Ferenczi got a yellow card. The thrilling first half ended with the score 3-3.

Second half

The second half started better for the home team, Dzsudzsák carried the ball, drifted to the left and passed it to the centre, where Domingues easily headed past his defender into the bottom left corner (4-3). After the goal, the we had a free kick, Abu Fani's curled ball found Traore empty, but his slide was saved by Megyeri. Unfortunately, the next goal was again scored by Loki, who had the man advantage: Domingues shot from 25 metres after a right-wing corner, the ball bounced off the outstretched Saldanha and Dibusz watched the ball go into his goal (5-3).
In the 63rd minute, Tamás Szűcs shot from almost the same position, but Dibusz was able to reach the bottom right corner this time. Jansen made a double substitution, with Zachariassen and Misidjan replacing Saldanha and Traoré. In the 67th minute, Márk Szécsi's shot swept over the bar. Our head coach made another update: Varga and Abu Fani were replaced by Gruber and Pesics. In the 75th minute, Kady's free kick was cleared from under the bar by Megyeri. In the 82nd minute, we came back to within a goal again, Cissé shot into the home goal (5-4).

Our team did their best to equalize, in the last minutes we pushed the home team in front of their own goal, but we couldn't score another goal and lost 5-4 to DVSC. Next time our football team will host ZTE on Sunday 8 December at 20.00 on Üllői út.
