Our men's football team played their first training match against the Polish champion Legia Warszawa. The first half's starting eleven was the following: Varga – Wingo, Blazic, Csontos, Nagy Olivér – Jones, Haratin, Csonka, Uzuni – Boli, Mmaee.
First half
The Polish team started the game dynamically, but in the fifth minute we had the chance to open the scoring, but Jones, following Mmaee's pass, was stopped irregularly by Wieteskawe. We were awarded a free-kick from a dangerous place. Uzuni finished it, but the attempt of our Albanian attacker got stuck in the defenders.
Both teams tried to play their own style of game, ours tried to break through the massive polish wall of defense, but a few errors slipped into the final passes and finishes. Probably this is due to the fact that this was only the first preparation match for Peter Stöger's team.
Second half
After the break we stepped on the pitch with a completely different team: Szécsi Gergő – Gera Dániel, Iyinbor Patrick, Lasha Dvali, Eldar Civic – Katona Bálint, Vécsei Bálint – Hajdú Roland, Tokmac Nguen, Ammar Ramadan - Roko Baturina.
We didn't have to wait long for our first chance: after a nice attacking game, Bálint Katona was in a great position, but the goalkeeper could make the save. But in the 52nd minute, he was helpless: after a pass from Vécsei, Ramadan brilliantly dropped the ball to Baturina, who then ran in the middle and shot lavishly into the goal (1-0). This was definitely a great birthday present for our Croatian attacker.
Legia turned their game on another level, but they couldn’t break through our well-functioning defense. In the 80th minute, Civic started on the left, then, reaching the inside of the box, kicked a ruthless bomb into the Polish goal (2-0).
