On the penultimate day of a week-long training camp in Bad Radkersburg, our record champions played their second pre-season match against Romanian Cup winners Sepsi OSK. Stanislav Cherchesov started the match with Varga - Kaján, Cissé, Knoester, Civic - Esiti, Tóth A. - Zachariassen, Marquinhos, Kehinde - Baturina.
First half
We had to wait until the 15th minute for the first situation, when Ádám Varga, arriving back from loan from KTE, made a brilliant save. In the 25th minute, Marquinhos crossed the ball to Baturina, whose header was pushed over by Roland Niczuly, then Kaján shot from far but missed the target.
Seven minutes later, Kehinde put his foot in a cross from the left but the ball went over, as did Marquinhos' shot shortly afterwards. Then, Zachariassen's flat shot was saved by the Sepsi goalkeeper. In the 40th minute, our Romanian Cup winning opponents were awarded a free kick from a good position. Former fan favourite Roland Varga's shot bounced off the line. In the last minute of the half, Marquinhos and Kehinde combined to put the ball in the net, but it took Niczuly's superb save not to take the lead.
Second half
In the 51st minute Zachariassen fought out a free kick, but Nikolai Baden Frederiksen, who came on as a substitute at the break, hit the side netting. Two minutes later, Zachariassen fought out a penalty. Baden had another chance to score, but the Dane fired the penalty into the Sepsi goalkeeper and the rebound went over. In the 68th minute, Katona tried a shot but missed the target. In the 73rd minute, Civic's shot went past everyone inside the penalty area. Four minutes later we got a free kick from a good position. However, Gojak's flat shot was saved by the goalkeeper, but a minute later Mercier's cross was finished by Carlos Auzqui. Finally a goal in the pre-season!
No more goals were scored and our team ended their first summer training camp with a victory. The team will train in Bad Radkersburg on Thursday and after a few days of training at home, they will be back on the road next Monday for their second training session in Austria.
