VICTORY IN THE LAST HOME MATCH OF 2022
Botka's header in the final minutes decided the match.

The defending Hungarian champions, cup and UEL group winner Ferencváros hosted Paks in the 15th round of the championship. In the last home match of the 2022 season, Stanislav Cherchesov sent the starting line-up of Dibusz - Wingo, S. Mmaee, Kovacevic, Pászka - Besic, Laidouni - Zachariassen, Tokmac, Traoré - R. Mmaee to the pitch.

First half

We had to wait until the sixth minute for the first serious situation of the match, when our former player Bőle received a great ball, one-on-one, headed the ball to Dibusz and finally scored with a left foot (0-1). After the goal we changed the rhythm, we managed to push Paks in front of their own goal. The high pressure led to several Fradi chances, but first Samy Mmaee's and then Wingo's shot were blocked by the defence.

In the 13th minute our Moroccan defender tried again, this time he shot from 18-19 meters but missed the goal. Three minutes later, Traoré moved into the empty area behind Pászka and his cross from a sharp angle hit the top bar, but the assistant referee indicated that the ball was outside.

In the 22nd minute, Ryan Mmaee received a gift ball from the Paks defence, the first situation was saved by Nagy, but the rebound was slotted in by Zachariassen (1-1). Five minutes later, Paks threatened, but Dibusz saved well from a shot to the short side. Six minutes before the end of the first half, Wingo's own goal gave Paks the lead again (1-2).

In the 44th minute, Ryan Mmaee fell past Kádár inside the penalty area, the referee first showed a corner, but the video referee indicated to review the incident. Andó-Szabó then pointed to the penalty spot. The victim himself stepped up and, following his double against MOL Fehérvár, scored in the Paks goal (2-2). No further goals were scored in the first half, and the teams went into the break with a 2-2 lead.

Second half

The first few minutes after the break were our way, we kept possession of the ball and put pressure on the Paks defence, so they only rarely found the ball. In the 58th minute Traoré shot from distance, but his powerful shot hit the post. In the 62nd minute, after a Traoré cross, Tokmac changed rhythm and passed to Marquinhos, the Brazilian winger made a nice dodge and passed to our Norwegian striker, but his shot was blocked.

In the 67th minute, Ryan Mmaee tried to spin the ball past Nagy from a sharp angle, but the ball slowed down and changed direction, clearing the Paks defence. Two minutes later, Wingo tried to set up Ryan Mmaee with a powerful drive, but Nagy moved well out of his goal and collected the ball before the Moroccan could.

In the 74th minute, Paks broke free of their goal and Hahn launched a long-range shot, but Dibusz saved his shot from the top left corner. Eight minutes before the end of normal time, the visitors had a free-kick from a dangerous position, but Kinyik's effort was off target. Moments later, Hahn was in a great position but Dibusz made an amazing save.

In the last moments, we mobilised all our strength to win the last home game of 2022. Moments before the end of normal time, Auzqui was in position, but missed the ball. But it didn't end there: in the moments of extra time, Botka's header bounced over Nagy and into the net (3-2).

In a match that was tense and exciting to the end, we managed to win 3-2 and ended the last home game of 2022 with a victory.

We will close the autumn on Sunday 13 November at 15.45 when we visit Budapest Honvéd.
