Two-goal derby victory
In the first Ferencváros – Újpest derby of 2020/21, Fradi won by Tokmac’ and Somalia’s goals.

Ferencváros has a very active season with a crowded calendar and many important matches: after playing against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League group stage earlier this week, the Budapest players played tonight at home against the ancient rivals, Újpest FC.

Basically a full stadium waited for the players who played an enjoyable match with many chances. The first Fradi shot was recorded to Róbert Mak whose shot was blocked by Pajovic. After the first attempt our strickers, Boli, Tokmac and Mak all had their attempts and it was Tokmac who managed to take the lead with a nice header. Only 10 minutes after half time Ferencváros scored again: Mak’s corner shot landed at Somalia who was left alone in the penalty area and could this way score a beautiful goal from 10 meters. With a two-goal lead our team played confidently in the remaining parts of the match, until Újpest received a penalty after Dibusz’ foul. Tallo stood behind the ball but he missed his chance. From this point, the result did not change and our lead was not in danger.

By the goals of Tokmac Nguen and Somalia, Ferencávors defeated Újpest FC in the Hungarian football league. Fradi continues against Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League next week.
