THREE POINTS FROM DEBRECEN
Ferencváros turned the result and won over DVSC by goals of Varga and Zachariassen.

Our 34-time champion men's football team played in Debrecen in the 20th round of the OTP Bank League. We won 5-1 against MTK in the midweek, 19th round of the championship, with Barnabás Varga scoring a hat trick within minutes. Dejan Stankovic made a few changes to the starting line-up of today, and our head coach sent our team onto the pitch in the line-up of Dibusz - Makreckis, Mmaee, Cissé, Ramírez - Maiga - Loncar, Abu Fani - Zachariassen, Varga B., Marquinhos.

First half

Our team took the first kick of the match, but the cold shower came already in the first minute, as Christian Manrique gave the home side the lead (1-0). However, we didn't have to wait long for an equaliser: in the 10th minute Abu Fani crossed from the left wing, and Barnabás Varga arrived and headed home from the five-meter box (1-1).The next chance in the high tempo encounter came in the 21st minute, Zachariassen outwitted his defenders on the right wing and shot, but his effort bounced off the Debrecen defenders and into the lap of Megyeri.

In the 37th minute, a Debrecen cross bounced off the head of Ramírez and the ball fell to Bárány, who shot at Dibusz from 10 metres out, but the goalkeeper saved. A minute later, our team won a corner, Abu Fani's cross was headed wide by Mmaee, but our defender headed wide of the left post. The last move of the first half was Szécsi's, the Debrecen striker shot well over the goal from 18-20 meters.

Second half
Dejan Stankovic made one change at the break, with Makreckis replaced by Wingo. In the 49th minute, he was the one in position, his ball from the right wing was cleared by Megyeri. Two minutes later Dzsudzsóak took a corner shot, but the header was collected by Dibusz. In the 55th minute Abu Fani took his chance, but but the deflected shot caused no trouble to the home keeper.

In the 63rd minute, Marquinhos shot from the left corner of the penalty area, his curling effort was saved by Megyeri. Two minutes later, Maiga's cross bounced off a Debrecen defender, but the VAR saw no handling. In the 71st minute, the home side got a chance, Manrique's shot was saved by Dibusz. Shortly afterwards Bárány left his defenders stranded but hit the side netting. In the 75th minute, our team finally took the lead, Marquinhos crossed from the left and Zachariassen headed into the net (1-2).

In the second half, our opponents tried their best to equalize, but the home team failed to do so and remained unbeaten for the third match in a row. Our next match will be at home to Olympiacos in the UEFA Europa Conference League on Thursday 15 February at 18.45 Hungarian time.
