Our 35-time men's football champions hosted Puskás Akadémia in the eighth round of the championship at the Groupama Arena. Our team started with Dibusz - Gartenmann, Cissé, Raul Gustavo, Civic - Maiga, Abu Fani, Ben Romdhane - Traoré, Gruber - Varga B.
The HSA Player of the Month award was presented before the start of the encounter, and Dénes Dibusz was presented with the award as the best player of the month for August.
First half
In the first minute, Duarte fired at Dibusz' goal but the shot was not dangerous, then Nissila's shot from Raul Gustavo was saved to a corner. In the 15th minute, Barnabás Varga started and put the ball out to Gruber on the left, who set up Abu Fani in the middle, and our Israeli international's shot from about 20 metres out narrowly missed Pécsi's goal. At the other end, a dangerous cross was saved by Dibusz and Gartenmann. A few minutes later Levi shot but Dibusz saved well, at the other end Traoré was inches wide. Towards the end of the half, Puskás Akadémia had a free kick from a good position, Levi shot 18 metres from goal, but Dibusz saved well.
Second half
The second half started with a dangerous cross from Ben Romdhane and then Traoré's close range shot was saved by the visiting goalkeeper. In the 64th minute, three substitutions were made, with Matheus Saldanha replacing Barnabas Varga, while Kristoffer Zachariassen replaced Traoré and Tosin Kehinde replaced Gruber. After that, our fresh Brazilian striker scored from his first touch of the ball. Kehinde won a ball in our own half and then superbly played the ball out to Saldanha, who elegantly put it into the net (1-0). Shortly afterwards, our goal scorer passed to Kehinde, who played a beautiful flick clear, but his clearance was no good. In the 77th minute, Pécsi made a big mistake in front of his goal, Saldanha was grateful for the gift ball and passed it into the goal (2-0). The Saldanha show didn't end here, he scored his third goal with a beautiful move (3-0) soon after. Our team won 3-0 against Puskás Akadémia. Next week on Thursday we play UEL against Tottenham Hotspur.
