Pesics shines, victory in Debrecen
Ferencváros put up a great fight and Pesic scored to win 1-0 at home to DVSC.

Dénes Dibusz is back, Naby Keita was a first-time starter. With these two pieces of good news, our defending champions started their away game against DVSC in the 23rd round of the OTP Bank Liga.

Then it continued with a touching gesture, as the footballers of both teams were accompanied on the pitch by their partners, mothers, daughters and players of the DEAC women's football team on the occasion of International Women's Day on 8 March.

First half

The first quarter of an hour in the Nagyerdei Stadion was a hard-fought but error-filled game. The first big chance of the game came in the 17th minute, when Dzsudzsák's left-wing free-kick was headed towards goal by Domingues, but the bouncing ball missed the top right corner by inches.

In the 25th minute, Matheus Saldanha fired a clear shot just over the bar from a corner, and at the other end Maurides, who has scored four times in his last five Debrecen games, headed into the hands of Dibusz from a free kick.

In the 35th minute, our Brazilian striker corrected his earlier mistake after breaking inside the penalty area on the left and curling home from a difficult angle, while Aleksandar Pesic arriving in the center curled a shot into the net between the hands of Krisztián Hegyi. 0-1!

On the Debrecen side, Youga took a shot in the 39th minute, but his attempt missed the top right corner. Before the break, after a spectacular combination of Saldanha, Keita, Civic, the latter sent in a low cross from the left, and although Pesics was on the end of the line, Hegyi was able to get on the ball and a corner was awarded. Pesic, our goalscorer, threatened to score as the half drew to a close, but his shot from a spike missed the target.

Second half
The first quarter of an hour of the second half saw a great fight and a combative field play, but the situations were not created. Pesic had to be replaced in the 55th minute by Barnabas Varga, and Keita, who was making his first start, was also given 55 minutes this time.

Dzsudzsák had a chance in the 66th minute, but the home captain fired over from 17 meters out. In reply, a quick counter-attack saw Makreckis burst inside the penalty area from the right, twisted his defenders and his sharp shot was saved by Hegyi for a corner.

Most of the play was in the box, but Fradi had more possession. Credit must also go to Dibusz, who, although he did not need much defending, came out bravely and decisively on a number of dangerous crosses. In the 78th minute Makreckis again had a great chance. Cristian Ramírez's left-wing cross found our defender running up the right, who shot wide, but Hegyi made a great save.

Saldanha headed dangerously towards goal in the 84th minute, but Hegyi also made a save. Norbert Kaján came on in the 90th minute, replacing Makreckis. In the 4th minute of extra time, Júlio Romao received his second yellow card, which put us into a man down at the end. Ramírez's cross had to be pulled back by Hegyi at the end of the match. Those were the last scenes of the match, and

our team won 1-0 and moved two points clear of the leaders Puskás Akademia.

Ferencváros will next play Kecskemét in the 24th round of the OTP Bank Liga on Sunday, March 16, at 15.00 in the Groupama Arena.
