Ferencvárosi Torna Club extended the contract of four-time Hungarian champion and cup-winning Norwegian striker Tokmac Nguyen on Tuesday!

The 28-year-old striker played in 43 matches in the 2021/22 season (NB I: 28, BL qualification: 6, UEFA Europa League: 6, MOL Hungarian Cup: 3), scoring 12 goals and 10 assists.

Tokmac Chol Nguen was born on 20 October 1993 in Kakuma, Kenya, and lived in Norway from the age of five. It was here that he was introduced to the basics of football, growing up with Drammen FK before his talents were discovered by two-time Norwegian champions and five-time Norwegian Cup winners Strömsgodset. During his time there, he was loaned out twice, first to Baerum SK and then to Mjöndalen, but still celebrated a title triumph with his parent club in 2013.

Nicknamed Toki by fans, the lightning quick striker moved to Budapest in February 2019. In his first interview with FradiMédia, he said that he had a simple decision to make when he was approached by our club. At the time, he added that he had his sights set on the league title first, and then he would like to play in the Champions League.

His wishes were granted, as the title came straight away, and although he had to wait for the Champions League, he showed what he was capable of on the international stage with Fradi in the 2019/20 season. A year later, however, nothing stood in the way of him and his team, as Djurgarden, Celtic, Dinamo Zagreb and Molde led them straight to the group stage of Europe's most prestigious cup competition. What's more, in all of these matches, the goal-scoring striker played a starring role. The wonderful run and shot between Barkas' legs at Celtic Park to put Fradi ahead is probably still vivid in everyone's memory.

In the Champions League, he faced the likes of Dinamo Kiev, Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus and FC Barcelona, who still had Lionel Messi in their ranks at that time.

In the first encounter against the latter at Camp Nou, he scored a bomb in the 10th minute, although it was disallowed for a foul, but there is no doubt that it was a stunning strike. What they can't take away from it, however, is his goal-bound strike for Dinamo Kiev, after which the team came back from minus two and claim a point in the Champions League group stage.

After the CL qualification, the team won gold in the OTP Bank League for the third consecutive season and 32nd time overall, and were once again in the Champions League qualifying round. As usual, Tokmac also helped Fradi with important goals, scoring against Prishtina at home and Zalgiris away. We marched all the way to the play-off round of the UEFA Champions League, where Young Boys proved to be the better side, but we still qualified for the UEFA Europa League group stage.

In the UEL this time we were up against the familiar Scottish side Celtic, Spain's Real Betis and Germany's Bayer Leverkusen. Tokmac was in the squad for all six games, and immediately registered a goal in the first group game against the Germans.

In the league, Tokmac scored nine times in 28 matches. He scored the key goal against Kisvárda, which was the 33rd title, and also in the home derby against Újpest, where we secured our fourth consecutive league gold medal.

In all competitions, Tokmac Nguen has now played 147 games in FTC's green and white kit, scoring 43 times and adding 26 assists to his tally.
