FTC is now glad to announce its first winter signing for the men’s football team. The two-time Hungarian national team player, Bálint Vécsei arrives to Budapest from the Europa League Group stage participant Lugano. Vécsei is 26 years old and is a universal midfielder, he returns to Hungary after four and a half years.
Introduction
Bálint Vécsei was born in Miskolc July 13, 1993. His first club was KBSC in Kazincbarcika, he played there between 10 and 15. Then, we moved to Budapest and started playing in Budapest Honvéd.
He had his senior debut in Budapest Honvéd at 17 and played eight times in his first season. From the next season he became a regular at Honvéd and collected a Bronze in 2012/13.
At 22 Vécsei signed to Bologna in Seria A and he was immediately loaned out to Lecce. In season 2016/17 he signed for Lugano and played there as a regular. Lugano achieved two bronze medals and qualified automatically to the Europa League group stage. Against Steaua Bukarest he even scored the winning goal.
He played in several EL games this season, too, where they had several draws. Against Sion Vécsei was the hero of the match: he took the leading goal in the 77th minute, but even the winning goal in the 92nd minute.
Vécsei has played so far twice in the national team, against Albania and Kazakhstan.

Ferencváros won 3-1 at home against Újpest in the Hungarian Cup quarter-final.
Our athlete won European Championship gold medal and also came third in the relay at the World Championship.
Ferencváros played almost the whole game with men behind and managed to get a 1-1 draw against DVTK.
