The international performance of Ferencváros has been memorable this year so far: we defeated Djurgarden, Celtic and Dinamo Zagreb. Today the first leg of the Champions League playoff was played in Norway against Molde. The stakes are high, the winner team goes to the group stage.
We played confidently in the beginning and scored early, already in the 7th monute. Boli delivered the goal to the net from a crossing. Then, the home team came up and enjoyed the advantage of the artificial turf. In half time the result was still 0-1 but a few minutes after the restart we could celebrate again: Uzuni’s header extended our lead. We could have thought that we have the match under control at this point, but Molde did not give itself easy and closed up quickly: they equalized and even turned the result in the 83rd minute. At this point the victory or even a draw seemed somewhat hard. However, we received a penalty that Kharatin scored confidently. This goal created the final 3-3 result and we can prepare for the return game in Budapest, it is played next Tuesday.
