Samy Mmaee, the four-times Moroccan national team and Belgian Cup winner player signs for Ferencváros. Samy is a universal defender with a prime position as center back. He arrives to Fradi from Sint-Truiden, Belgium.
Introduction
Samy Mmaee was born in Halle, Belgium. The young player with Moroccan background played first at Gent, later at Standard Liége. At 17 he had his debut in the Belgian first league at Liége and won the cup with the team in the 2015-16 season.
In 2017/18 he was loaned out to MVV Maastricht so he could gain some more playing experience which proved to be a good decision as he could have 27 appearances, 24 from start and he scored 3 goals.
After the loan period he returned to the first league, this time to Sint-Truiden. In his second season he reached his breakthrough with 22 appearances.
In the current season Samy Mmaee already played 11 league matches and in recent weeks he was close to sign to Saint-Étienne and to Rubin Kazany but in the end he turned out to sign for our team.
The 24-year old center defender played in the U19 and U21 teams of Belgium, even against Hungary in 2018, where he met one of our current players, Máté Katona.
On the professional level Mmaee represents Morocco and had 4 appearances already: two times on a friendly game and two times on African Cup qualifiers. His team mates include Hakim Ziyech (Chelsea), Sofyan Amrabat (Fiorentina) or Achraf Hakimi (Inter).
Sany’s younger brother, Ryan Mmaee is also a professional player, recently playing at AEL Limassol. His older brother, Jacky Mmaee plays in Luxemburg and Camil, his youngest brother is currently playing at Standard’s U21 team.

Ferencváros put up a great fight and Pesic scored to win 1-0 at home to DVSC.
