MMK: WE REACHED THE FINAL, BOLI DOUBLED!
After 2017, Ferencváros is back in the Hungarian Cup final: in the semi-final we beat ETO FC Győr 4-1.

In the semi-final of the MOL Hungarian Cup, Ferencváros, the defending champions and leaders of the top flight played ETO FC Győr, 11th in the second division, away. Head coach Stanislav Cherchesov sent the following starting line-up into the match:
Dibusz - Somalia, S. Mmaee, Blazic, Pászka - Loncar, Esiti - Zachariassen, Tokmac, Auzqui - Boli, all in the hope of qualifying for the final on 11 May at the Puskás Arena, where Paks FC had already qualified on Tuesday with a 3-0 win over Újpest.

First half

Lóránd Pászka, who was signed during the winter, was in the starting line-up for the first time in a competitive match. The ceremonial kick-off was taken by Igor Nicsenko, a former outstanding Ukrainian striker of both our club and Győr, who celebrated his 51st birthday the other day. The first chance of the cup tie could have come from Tokmac Nguen's ball in behind the defence, but it was too high for Franck Boli. Tokmac broke into the box again soon after, but his cross was cleared by the defenders. The stands opposite the ETO Park benches were almost full, while our club's supporters filled the away section behind the goal. The first big alerting situation was caused by Boli's sharp shot in front of the home goal, which was cut out by the defenders, immediately followed by Kristoffer Zachariassen's header, and then Loncar's corner was headed in by Samy Mmaee, who nodded in but missed the target. In the 13th minute, Somalia hung around on the right, Boli floated his shot in the air but it was saved by the defenders before he could shoot. Zachariassen came close to scoring in the 15th minute, his shot from the 16th wobbled off the crossbar but was flagged for offside. Our team dominated the first quarter of an hour, ETO didn't get a chance. In the 20th minute we missed another great chance, Tokmac jumped well, his ball in the middle bounced dangerously off a back to a corner, which was not turned into a goal. In the 23rd minute we took the lead: after a Zachariassen's cross, Auzqui crossed the ball to the centre and Franck Boli volleyed the ball into the net (0-1). Ten minutes later, we were two up: a free kick from the left wing was headed into the top left corner by Zachariassen, who headed in Stjepan Loncar's cross (0-2).
Our Norwegian footballer scored in his third league game in a row, after the championship games against Debrecen and Honvéd, and also gave away a goal pass in Kispest.
The Győr' strength was consumed by the defence in the continuation. And Fradi were not to stop at two goals, but Zachariassen's double in the 41st minute failed to find the target, he poked in the ball after a clash but the Győr goalkeeper saved. Samy Mmaee's header from a corner just flew wide of the top bar closed the first half. We had one foot in the Hungarian Cup final.

Second half

The second half started with a few minor fouls and then another Fradi goal. In the 52nd minute, Tokmac found the ball between three defenders, centred and Franck Boli slipped in another goal (0-3). Soon afterwards, head coach Stanislav Cherchesov made two substitutions, Laidouni and Kovacevic replacing Auzqui and Blazic. In the 61st minute, a sharp cross from Pászka had to be saved by the Győr goalkeeper. A few minutes later Marko Marin came on for Tokmac. Our Norwegian player moved well, always had a threat in his game. We had to wait for the first Dibusz save until the 67th minute, when Vernes, who had come on as a substitute shortly before, tested him from long range. A minute later, Vernes shot again, and Dibusz was on the ball again. In the 72nd minute, Somalia received his first yellow card of the match after a foul. From this free kick, ETO scored: Vernes' ball from the left was slid into the net by Bacsa (1-3). A few minutes later, our team did not let the ETO goal go unanswered, Marko Marin's shot was headed in by Lipták, deceiving his goalkeeper (1-4). The goal was finally awarded to our player.

No more goals were scored, so our team triumphed 4-1 and qualified for the final of the MOL Hungarian Cup again after 2017, where Paks will be their opponents on Wednesday, 11 May, at the Puskás Arena.
