Our 32-time Hungarian defending champions hosted DVSC in the 27th round of the OTP Bank League at the Groupama Arena. Before the starting whistle, CEO of FTC Football Ltd., Pál Orosz, presented Aissa Laidouni with a commemorative plaque, as the Tunisian national team player played his 50th league match for Ferencváros in mid-March against Mezőkövesd. Stanislav Cherchesov has sent on the starting XI of Dibusz - Botka, Blazic, Kovacevic, Civic, Esiti, Vécsei - Zubkov, Tokmac, Marquinhos - R. Mmaee.
First half
We had our first chance as early as the 18th second after Marquinhos' cross found its way to Zubkov thanks to a sliding Debrecen defender, but goalkeeper Hrabina helped his teammate out. Shortly afterwards, we had another attack on the right, this time Botka curled the ball through the middle to Marquinhos, but the Brazilian's shot was saved by the visiting goalkeeper. What didn't work on one side, worked on the other: this time Civic played the ball in, which Tokmac Nguen, coming through the middle, put into the net in exemplary fashion (1-0). DVSC could have replied immediately, but Dorian Babunski's shot was saved by Dibusz Dénes. In the 24th minute, his brother David Babunski had an even better chance, but again Dibusz made a great save. Six minutes later, Balázs Dzsudzsák's foot swung in a shot, but his attempt went wide.
Tokmac Nguen scored for the seventh time in this season's championship.
We threatened at the other goal from a corner, but Blazic's header was not accurate enough. In the 38th minute, Ryan Mmaee had a great chance, but our Moroccan striker found Hrabina from a sharp angle. A minute later, however, the Debrecen goalkeeper was helpless to stop a shot from Marquinhos, who scored his first goal for his team (2-0). David Babunski came close to scoring on the other side just before half-time, but again Dibusz was able to save the shot from the northern Macedonian. With that, and a two-goal Fradi lead, the first 45 minutes ended.
Second half
The third Fradi goal was almost scored in the 52nd minute, inches away after a scramble from a corner. Soon afterwards we refreshed the team: Kovacevic was replaced by Samy Mmaee. In the 58th minute, during a counter-attack, Marquinhos first left his defender in the lurch with a superb flick and then centred a right-wing cross to Ryan Mmaee, who hit the post. Shortly afterwards, Tokmac's corner was headed in by Vécsei, who just missed Marquinhos. In the 67th minute we made another substitution, with Zeljko Gavric replacing Marquinhos, who scored his first ever Fradi goal, and Kristoffer Zachariassen replacing Vécsei.
In the 73rd minute, Ryan Mmaee had a chance to scramble all the way to the goal, his cross was saved by Hrabina, but Zachariassen was on the end of the rebound and headed the ball into the net (3-0). It took less than a minute for the Norwegian national team player to get another chance, he almost scored his second goal, but this time Hrabina saved bravely. Soon after, Zubkov was replaced by Somalia, while Ryan Mmaee was replaced by Franck Boli.
Our team defeated Debrecen 3-0 with a great performance to lead the league with nine points. In the next round, our team will play at home against Budapest Honvéd on Saturday 16 April at 19.30.
