Sensational deal, another Fradi footballer in a top European league team! After Muhamed Besic, Ádám Nagy, Somalia, Myrto Uzuni and Aissa Laidouni, the list continues with Krisztián Lisztes Jr. Ferencvárosi Torna Club sold their home-grown 18-year-old striker to Eintracht Frankfurt of the German Bundesliga, meaning another top league club has signed a player from our club, proving that Fradi is a good stepping stone. Krisztián Lisztes will only join the 2022 Europa League winners in the summer of 2024, until then he will be at the disposal of the new Serbian head coach Dejan Sztankovic and Fradi.
Krisztián Lisztes Jr. was born on 6 May 2005 in Budapest. His father, the former Hungarian national team midfielder Krisztián Lisztes, served our club for three seasons (1993-1996, 2008, 2011-2012), with whom he was a two-time champion and cup winner. He was also a member of our 1995 Champions League participant team. Lisztes Jr., who joined Fradi's youth team in 2017, signed a professional contract with FTC on 22 July 2021, at the age of 16, as a youngster with good prospects.
He made his NB I debut on 14 May 2022 against Gyirmót, under Stanislav Cherchesov, and became a member of the team that won our 33rd league title. He made his international debut in an away Europa League play-off against Shamrock Rovers at the start of the following season. In the autumn, he scored 3 goals for Soroksár SC, the "little Fradi" of NB II. He extended his contract with Fradi in January 2023. The next time he got play-time was in the UEL tie against Leverkusen, and the big breakthrough came in the home league match against Mol Fehérvár on 2 April 2023, when he came on as a substitute and scored a double, saving the match 2-2. He also netted for Vasas, arch-rivals Újpest and Kisvárda in the final stages of the championship, playing an active part in the club's 34th league gold medal. Meanwhile, he also made his debut for the Hungarian U21 national team under Zoltán Gera, scoring the winning goal against Slovakia. At the end of the season, he was awarded the MLSZ Rangadó Gala's Discovery of the Year award.
He opened the 2023-2024 season with two goals, netting for Fehérvár and Puskás Akadémia, and also handed out an assist in the away Europa Conference League qualifier against Shamrock Rovers.
After that, he was bought by one-time Bundesliga champions, five-time DFB Cup winners and two-time UEFA Cup/Europa League winners Eintracht. However, Krisztián Lisztes Jr. will be keeping the Fradi camp happy with his goals this season as he only joins the German side next summer.
