Ferencváros played away at Gyirmót FC, the newcomers of the league, today in the 11th round. The players were active from the kick-off and Vécsei created the first chance but his shot flew above the goal. The home team needed to focus on its defense throughout the first half and in the 21st minute we were closest to scoring: Samy Mmaee could have recorded his first goal at Fradi after Róbert Mak’s corner shot. Samy’s header was blocked by a great save from the home team’s goalie. Despite these chances, the first 45 ended 0-0 which did not please the traveling supporters of our club.
In the second period we intensified our play and scored quickly: Myrto Uzuni took the lead and even the substitutes served our offensive play by Boli and Marin arriving onto the pitch. Then, five minutes before the final whistle Tokmac Nguen extended the lead after a nice individual performance.
Peter Stöger’s team won 2-0 and collected very important three points from Gyirmót. We continue against Celtic on Thursday at the Groupama Arena.
