On the first day of December, we played our 299th derby, this time away to arch-rivals Újpest at Szusza Ferenc Stadion in the 15th round of the league. Our 35-time champion football team started with Dibusz - Makreckis, Gartenmann, Cissé, Ramírez - Abu Fani, Maiga - Ben Romdhane, Zachariassen, Traoré - Varga B.
First half
A huge Fradi chance to start the game, but Piscitelli made a great save from Traoré's close-range header, and Varga's chances were saved by the Italian goalkeeper as well. In the 11th minute, Traoré was again in a position, this time with a threatening shot with his foot, which went just over the goal. For the third time in quick succession, our striker from Mali was in position again, but he was not accurate enough this time either. The next part of the first half was spent by field-play, with neither goal being threatened for long minutes. Then in the 33rd minute, Újpest also got to our goal, but Brodic couldn't get to the ball after the cross. Finally, in the 43rd minute we came close to scoring through Cissé from a corner, but again Piscitelli saved, no goal was scored in the first half.
Second half
The second half started with a great shot by Horváth, but the ball flying through the air was saved by Dibusz, and in the 57th minute Fiola's cross was also well saved by our goalkeeper. At the other end, Makreckis gave a cross to Zachariassen, who had a chance to shoot from close range, but the ball got stuck in his defender. In the 61st minute, Abu Fani had a shot from a left-wing cross that went wide and was our best chance so far. Tosin Kehinde was the decider in the last derby, we could have hoped for something similar from him as he was our first substitute, but Philippe Rommens also came on, the former replacing Ben Romdhane and the latter Abu Fani. Immediately afterwards, Dibusz had to save a free-kick from Ljujic, and in the 76th minute Brodic's shot swept past our goal. Matheus Saldanha and Aleksandar Pesic replaced Zachariassen and Varga in the last part of the game. Soon afterwards Maiga's shot was blocked. In the 87th minute, Brodic headed towards our goal, Dibusz made a great save. In the dying moments of extra time, Ramírez shot but Horváth dived into the path of the ball.
With today's result. our team played their fourth draw of the season. Our next game is on 5 December at home to DVSC.
