Ferencváros became 34-time champions in the 30th round of the OTP Bank League when they took on Kisvárda at the Groupama Arena, as the stumble of Kecskemét on Friday made Stanislav Cherchesov's side's championship title a certainty. Our head coach has voted for the starting line-up of Dibusz - Botka, S. Mmaee, Knoester, Pászka - Baráth, Gojak, Zachariassen - Marquinhos, Traoré, Owusu. Before the match, our club's president Gábor Kubatov presented the Player of the Month award to Krisztián Lisztes, who celebrated his 18th birthday and second Hungarian league title on the day of the match, scoring four goals and one assist in five NB I matches until today.
First half
Our team started the game in a manner befitting a champion. Amer Gojak, who scored a brace against Újpest, scored early on but the goal was disallowed for an offside, and then a ball whizzed past Marquinhos' feet just two metres from the goal line. In the 13th minute, Traoré raced to the baseline and his perfect backpass was met by Gojak, but the ball got caught in the legs of the forward, another great opportunity.
At the other end, Spasic's long-range shot was confidently saved by the now six-time champion Dibusz Dénes. Seven minutes later, Baráth shot from about 25 meters out, but the poor effort was no problem to stop for the Várda goalkeeper. In the 27th minute, Samy Mmaee's header was saved by Hindrich. We controlled the game for the first 45 minutes but could not take the lead.
Second half
At the break Krisztián Lisztes and Ryan Mmaee came on for Zachariassen and Owusu. At the start of the second half, Lóránd Pászka was perfect down the long side and scored his first league goal for Fradi, and then he almost found the net for his second, but this time he missed. Not so Krisztián Lisztes, who just can't stop, again made a superb run in front of goal and scored his fifth goal in the league, a perfect birthday present for himself and the thousands of Fradi fans.
Shortly afterwards, Gojak's long-range effort crashed past the left post. In the 63rd minute the crowd roared again after Samy Mmaee headed in our third goal. Ten minutes before the end of normal time, Esiti came on for Gojak. Mercier, who also came on as a substitute, then played in with Paszka, a nice attack but no situation was created. In the 85th minute, Vida tried a long range effort which Dibusz had to save. Three minutes later, Sagal dribbled his way inside the penalty area, but the ball was not gathered. The three minutes of extra time went without chances to remember.
Our team, now 34 times champions, achieved a great victory in front of their home crowd in a great atmosphere!
