Ferencváros entered the 29th round of the OTP Bank League with the bet that we can secure our 35th Hungarian championship title at home against Kisvárda. Dejan Stankovic started with Dibusz - Makreckis, Abena, Cissé, Civic - Loncar, Maiga - Zachariassen, Abu Fani, Marquinhos - Varga B.
First half
Immediately after the start there was danger in front of our goal: Navrátil's close range shot was saved by Dibusz, then the ball was put back into the middle, but the replay was inaccurate. In the 6th minute, Abu Fani curled in a free kick, but the visitors' goalkeeper Kovács headed the ball to a corner. Four minutes later, Marquinhos dribbled down on the left, broke inside the penalty area, his shot from an acute angle was saved by the goalkeeper and Loncar's header was also saved. Shortly afterwards Marquinhos threatened again, but his effort was saved by Kovács. In the 18th minute, Zachariassen was badly fouled not far from Kisvárda's box, a free kick from a dangerous position was awarded but Abu Fani hit the line. Half an hour into the game Zachariassen had a chance and got a touch on the ball, but the goalkeeper saved to another corner and then had to save a header. From the following corner, Maiga spun a header from the short corner, but failed to find the net. In the 38th minute, Barnabás Varga got in the middle but his shot went over. Two minutes before the end of normal time Zachariassen had another change but we could not take advantage of the opportunity, Maiga shot wide. There was some excitement left at the end of the first half, Civic put in a precise free kick, Abena headed in but Kovács made yet another great save and the teams went into the break with a goalless draw.
Second half
Dejan Stankovic made one change for the restart, with Traoré coming on for Zachariassen. Ötvös came also on for the visitors, and he immediately shot on goal, but was not accurate. In the 60th minute, Traoré's close-range header was again well saved by Fradi's former youth keeper, Kovács Marcell, but it was already an offisde. After that Makreckis came forward with a cross but Marquinhos could not head well. In the 65th minute Abu Fani attempted a left-footed shot, which the goalkeeper also pushed to the corner. Another substitution was made, Loncar went off and Kenan Kodro came on. Our striker immediately set the ball up for Abu Fani to shoot, but failed to take the lead. In the 77th minute, Varga had a shot saved by Kovács after a well-paced clearance from Marquinhos. We did not stop but in the 83rd minute Traoré headed over another chance. As the match was coming close to its end, Sevikjan and Ben Romdhane came on, Marquinhos and Varga Barnabás went off but no change occured in the result.
