IMPORTANT LEAGUE SUCCESS AFTER SEVEN YEARS!
Ferencváros men's football team won 4-2 away to Puskás Akadémia, and are back on top of the table!

Our defending Hungarian champions men's football team played as guests of Puskás Akadémia in the 12th round of the OTP Bank League. In the match at Pancho Arena, Stanislav Cherchesov fielded the starting line-up of Dibusz - Wingo, S. Mmaee, Knoester, Pászka - Vécsei, Laidouni - Zachariassen, Traoré, Marquinhos - R. Mmaee.

First half

The match did not start well, as Puskás Akadémia took a penalty in the second minute. Puljic stood behind the ball, and although Dibusz hit the direction, he couldn't save the powerful shot (1-0). We came back to life after the goal and in the eighth minute Marquinhos equalised (1-1). Two minutes later, Felcsút threatened, but the ball from the right was no good for the midfielders.

In the 14th minute, the home side made a substitution: Mezghrani left the pitch due to injury and was replaced by Van Nieff. After the rush we had seen in the first minutes, the pace died down, we took control and tried to break down the Puskas defence. In the 28th minute, Laidouni served Marquinhos, who shot right after a good cross but missed the target.

A minute later Laidouni was again in the lead, this time Ryan Mmaee received a great ball and shot into the goal with his left foot (1-2). After that, the Tunisian midfielder was unstoppable, bursting through the midfield and after Traoré's cross, Marquinhos shot but Tóth saved. Then, in the 33rd minute Zsolt Nagy equalised through the crossbar (2-2).

Towards the end of the first half our team threatened more, but did not score until the 44th minute, when Marquinhos' pass was followed by Traoré's shot between the goalkeeper's legs (2-3). There were no more chances and we went into the break with a 3-2 lead.

Second half

Favorov and Corbu stayed in the dressing room and were replaced by Urblik and Gruber.

We had to wait until the 53rd minute for the first serious situation of the second half: Ryan Mmaee shot from the right, sharply into the middle, Traoré arrived and shot into the goal (2-4). After the fourth goal, Puskas could not get out of their box for long minutes, but when they did, our defence stood firm. In the 60th minute, Dibusz saved Zsolt Nagy's shot, and moments later Van Nieff saved bravely on his shot.

In the 61st minute, Stanislav Cherchesov also made a substitution, replacing Laidouni with Gojak. In the 63rd minute, Baluta fired a shot on goal from the right, again needing a superhuman save from our Hungarian national team goalkeeper to keep the score between the two. In the 68th minute we made another change: Besic came on for Marquinhos.

In the 74th minute, Gojak crossed the ball to his left and shot from 22 meters, but Tóth saved. Going into the last quarter of an hour we created several chances, but first Wingo's long-range shot was blocked and then Tóth made a great save from Gojak's corner. In the 82nd minute Gojak's shot inside the penalty area was saved by Tóth. Tokmac also came on to give some rest to Ryan Mmaee at the end of the match. After Colley came on as a substitute, Dibusz had to make another great save, but our goalkeeper's skills were also needed in the extra time minutes.

With this win, our team is back on top of the NB I standings!
