A WINNING END TO THE SEASON IN GYIRMÓT
Ferenváros men's football team won 2-1 against Gyirmót in their last league match of the season.

The last round of the 2021/2022 NB I season has reached its final round, with our 33-time champions and 24-time Hungarian Cup winners playing as guests of Gyirmót. This year, our team has been on a roll, as both domestic cups have been brought home to Népliget (the last time this happened was in 2016), and we also had a good autumn in the international cup, as we were able to play in the UEFA Europa League, and even beat Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 at home. In the last league match of the season, Stanislav Cherchesov started Bogdán - Wingo, S. Mmaee, Dvali, Civic - Besic, Loncar, Marin, Zubkov, Gavric - Bassey.

First half

The teams started intensively. In the fifth minute, Civic got into a great position, he didn't aim at the goal, but rather sent the ball in from an acute angle, but the home defence managed to save the ball for a corner, from which no danger was created. There was an immediate reply at the other goal, but Medgyes' shot missed Bogdán's goal. Four minutes later, Loncar passed to Gavric, who targeted the left side of the goal, but the ball bounced off besides the post, as did Zubkov's attempt.

In the 19th minute, Bassey got a superb clearance but our Nigerian striker pushed the ball too far and it was headed out of his goal by Rusak, and Hasani's shot just missed the target. Soon after, Marin launched Bassey, who passed to Loncar. Our Bosniak international made a fine dribble inside the box, but his shot from a tight angle went wide of the goal.

The next situation came immediately: at the end of a counter-attack, Marin beat the onrushing Wingo, but the American's shot was saved by Rusák with great bravery. In the 29th minute, Besic's curling effort was no problem for the home goalkeeper. A couple of minutes later, Wingo's cross was headed towards the net by Zubkov, but he was not strong enough. In the 43rd minute we had a free kick from a good position. Just before the end of the half, the first Fradi goal was scored by Bassey (0-1).

Second half

Our Nigerian striker could have scored his second goal immediately, but his shot went off the goalkeeper and Civic almost scored. At the end of the 53rd minute Loncar rolled in but Rusak got a shot off. And the missed chances took their revenge, as Barnabás Varga headed into Bogdán's goal from Medgyes' left-wing cross (1-1). The home side then scored again, but the goal was disallowed by the video referee. Gavric was replaced soon after by Damir Redzic, while Marin was replaced by Dávid Sigér. The equaliser brought Gyirmót's appetite, the home side led a succession of attacks, and in the 66th minute Bogdán had to make a big save. Immediately afterwards, we launched a counterattack led by Bassey, at the end of which Zubkov missed.

By the middle of the half, we managed to control the game again. Then, Marquinhos replaced Zubkov in the 74th minute,
while Bassey was replaced by the son of our club legend Krisztián Lisztes, Krisztián Lisztes Jr.

In the 79th minute, the home net was moved again, and Eldar Civic scored to give us the lead again (1-2). It was the second goal of our Bosnian national team player. Earlier he scored a great goal against Zalaegerszeg. In the 87th minute Marquinhos hit the side netting. In extra time, Redzic broke inside the penalty area, his pass was redirected off the foot of the home defender and Lasha Dvali made a last minute save from our goalkeeper.

Our team ended the season with a win!
