Ferencvárosi Torna Club launched a school health program in the autumn of 2021 called Scoring for Health. The main goal of this initiative is to promote healthy eating and lifestyle among children, their families and a wider community across Europe.
Scoring for Health targets children between 7 to 14 years, meaning any class in a given elementary school can participate in the project.
A class participates in the program for 15 weeks, during which various activities will be delivered by the Club’s nutritionist and coaches on a weekly basis. They can gain knowledge on topics such as healthy eating, cooking, physical activity and football. A significant part of the program can be implemented within classroom frameworks (e.g., class teacher classes, physical education classes).
To implement the project, Ferencvárosi Torna Club provides the following to the participating classes and teachers:
- A workbook and teacher’s manual containing the topics and tasks of the program
- Staff and professionals assisting in the implementation of the project
- Regular media coverage through the Club's media interfaces
- Opening and closing events at the club's sports facilities
- Body composition measurements at the beginning and end of the Program
- Fradi PE Classes with the sports professionals of the Club
- Free access to visit the Club’s matches and events
- Meeting with athletes of the Club on a regular basis
