THE ICONS OF THE PRESENT NEED TO BE PREPARED
On November 15, the FTC Career Day was held at the Groupama Arena with the participation of former athletes.

The 120-year-old Ferencvárosi Torna Club, together with Mező Ferenc Sports Committee of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, previously proposed to have the 31st of July be the European Day of Care. The aim of our club is to raise awareness about a serious problem both domestically and internationally, the difficulties and challenges of starting a civilian life after a career as a professional athlete.

As part of this program, we held the FTC Career Day at the Groupama Arena on November 15, with the participation of former athletes who served as good examples.

"The FTC Career Day was the official launch of the project when we also wanted to involve the Hungarian sports community in our initiative," started Bálint Máté, the international project manager of Ferencvárosi Torna Club. „With our program, we would like to draw attention to the fact this is not only a Hungarian but a global problem that needs to be addressed in order to prepare the role models of the present to remain legends even after they are no longer on the field.“

Zsuzsanna Friedl, Telekom's Human Resources Chief Executive Officer, spoke about what an organization can do to keep its employees in a good state of mind. The attendants, including Ildikó Pádár, one of the ambassadors of the European Day of Care project, or László Prukner, former head coach and current professional director of the junior teams of FTC, also heard the presentation on the importance of financial awareness from ex-tennis player András Lányi, and the former Olympic and world champion pentathlete Attila Mizsér who spoke about the transition from elite sports to corporate life.

As part of the European Day of Care project, FTC occasionally presents the inspiring story of a former elite athlete who has proven his worth not only as an athlete but also in civilian life. The European Day of Care project is co-financed by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Sport Program. The club’s partners are Lazio from Italy, Sporting from Portugal, Mladost from Croatia and Tampere Pyrinto from Finland.
